New to Linux, Ubuntu

Hey everyone, I recognize most of you from the Vista Forums (and I hope somebody recognizes ME Tongue) but I got a laptop to play around on and am currently downloading Ubuntu 8.04. I'm totally new to Linux, and I am pretty much only a Windows user. I plan on dual-booting this system with both Ubuntu 8.04 and Windows XP.

So, what am I to expect from Ubuntu? What is it about Ubuntu that makes it so special? Any other advice for an Ubuntun00b?

Thanks everyone.

RE: New to Linux, Ubuntu

Hello and welcome to The Ubuntu Forums,
IMO, Linux is hard to get to grips with at first but once you get the hang of how the way everything works, you will love it and will want to keep it, that's all I will say (Colin will tell you the rest Wink ).
